Audax Group now owns Tri-Northern Holdings (Tri-Ed/Northern Video Distribution). The Woodbury, N.Y.-based security distributor reportedly has 47 locations in the United States and Canada.
Audax describes itself as “a leading investor in lower-middle market companies.” While not a familiar name to most, Audax owns Kurt Versen Co., a downlighting manufacturer. The company also owns Lewis-Goetz and Co., a Pittsburgh-based industrial distributor.
Security Distribution & Marketing’s report included Pat Comunale, president and CEO of Tri-Ed saying, “We’ll be much more aggressive in the acquisition strategy than we have been in the past. We’re going to look to build out our footprint even faster than we have over the past four or five years. And having a partner like Audax that is very well-capitalized just dovetails right in with our existing strategy.”
