Lunera Names New Chief Executive Officer

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — To lead the industry shift from LED lighting and controls to Industrial Internet of Things (IoT), Lunera has appointed John Bruggeman as chief executive officer.

“John is the right leader at the right time. He has a keen ability to define and lead a market category that is primed for disruption,” said Gary Dillabough, chairman of the board, Lunera. “Lunera has had exceptional performance to date and John’s software experience and track record of success will accelerate Lunera’s leadership in the emerging Smart Building Services market.”

“We are at a time and place where there’s a great deal of confusion in the market,” said Bruggeman. “There is strong demand by companies to intelligently use their buildings’ data to improve energy, property and resource management. Lunera plans to rise above the industry noise and bring clarity to an Industrial IoT approach that makes economic sense.”

Bruggeman will direct corporate strategy, product development, sales and marketing, services and support, and operations. With decades of executive leadership at market-leading companies like AOL, Cadence, Lucent, Mercury, Netscape, Wind River, and most recently, as CEO of Traxpay, a privately-held B2B payments provider, Bruggeman brings seasoned management and expertise in developing strategies and organizations to lead industry transformations around technology product lines, enterprise software, and cloud-based services. Bruggeman holds a Master’s degree in Mathematics from University of Connecticut and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Science from San Jose State University.
