Marketplace Fairness Coalition Responds to Legislative Language

NAED is a member of the Marketplace Fairness Coalition, which has for years tried to get Congress to pass a law that will allow all states to collect sales tax from online transactions.

Jennifer Platt, Vice-President of Federal Operations for the Coalition, released the following statement after learning the House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte has released the draft legislative language of the proposal to address the issue.

In response to the release of draft legislative language from House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte (VA-06) today, the Marketplace Fairness Coalition acknowledges the Chairman’s efforts on federal E-Fairness legislation.

“The Marketplace Fairness Coalition is pleased to see engagement in the legislative process on an important issue for America’s communities. We look forward to reviewing the bill details and working with Congress to pass the right federal solution to modernize state sales tax collection as soon as possible.”
