West Caldwell, New Jersey As a testament to MaxLite’s commitment to developing new and innovative LED and energy efficient lighting fixtures from the ground up, the company has expanded its engineering department by setting up a team in its West Caldwell, New Jersey, location and appointing key engineering personnel. MaxLite’s new engineering team in New Jersey will work with the existing engineering team in the Rancho Cucamonga, California location.
“MaxLite’s engineering presence on the east and west coasts proves our commitment to developing and launching new products more quickly and efficiently into the marketplace,” explained James Steedly, director of product R&D and engineering for MaxLite. “With the two engineering engines working in-sync together, MaxLite can increase its volume of innovation and speed up product development, especially in the ever-changing LED marketplace.”
Based at MaxLite’s west coast offices, Steedly will oversee the California and New Jersey engineering operations. The New Jersey team includes three engineers: Robert Davis, Estrella Kim and Aymen Chami.
Robert Davis, the product engineering team manager with over 22 years of lighting and engineering experience, supervises engineering and product development in New Jersey and reports to Steedly. Davis, who was most recently employed as a senior design engineer for Acuity Brands Lighting, works on a wide variety of indoor and outdoor LED lighting and is very involved in MaxLite¹s proprietary designs and original patented products.
An expert in drivers and controls, Estrella Kim, who previously worked with Osram Sylvania, brings her seven years of experience in electrical engineering to MaxLite. She is responsible for developing LED drivers and lamps that sustain maximum service of MaxLite’s extensive offering of LED fixtures, and is focused on providing superior quality control on LED lamps and components.
Aymen Chami, who began as an engineering intern for MaxLite, was recently promoted to design engineer in charge of modifying electrical prototypes and assemblies of the firm¹s new lighting fixtures. In addition, he is collaborating with electrical engineers to troubleshoot indoor and outdoor LED product issues and performing internal testing.
