Mendez Appointed Lead at Summit’s El Paso Center

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Gene Mendez is the new service center leader at Summit Electric Supply’s El Paso, Texas service center. Before being appointed to his new position, Mendez led the El Paso location’s projects department for four years.

“Gene’s contributions as head of the projects team were tremendous,” says Summit’s Southwest Region Vice President Scott Cogan. “His relationships and knowledge of the El Paso market will help us build on our strong positioning in the area.”

Mendez has 20 years of industry experience, including time spent working for an electrical contractor. He progressed steadily in his distribution career, acquiring skills and knowledge in all aspects of the business before focusing on industrial and utility sales. By 2007, Mendez had become a project specialist and soon took on a leadership role in Summit’s projects department in El Paso.

To support the ongoing needs of local electrical professionals, Mendez says he will grow the location’s on-hand inventory of key materials. He’ll also build upon the customer service and technical support strengths of El Paso’s associates through strategic training and continued customer development.

“We differentiate ourselves by being knowledgeable about every aspect of our business,” says Mendez. “That shows in how we operate as a team and in our continuous efforts to be the best at everything we do.”
