NAED Extends Annual Achievement Awards Submissions To January 31

The National Association of Electrical Distributors is extended the deadline to nominate someone for the National Achievement Awards, which will be handed out at the 2024 NAED National Meeting in Austin, Texas on May 21-23.

The new deadline to submit your nominations is January 31, 2024.

The NAED Annual Achievement Awards recognize the companies and individuals who have made significant contributions to the electrical industry and NAED. As with years past, they include the Distributor Distinguished Service Award, the Associate Service Award, the Industry Award of Merit, the Honorary Life Membership Award, and the Arthur W. Hooper Achievement Award. Nominations will only be taken through the NAED portal that is set up at www.naed.org/member-awards.

The Arthur W. Hooper Achievement Award is presented to an individual who has had an exceptional career in distribution that covers the span of many years. Past winners include R. Lee Hite of the Hite Company, Bill Elliott of Elliott Electric Supply, Charles Collat, Sr. of Mayer Electric Supply Company, Jim Risk of Kirby Risk Corporation, Larry Stern of Standard Electric Supply, and last year’s winner Dan Dungan of Springfield Electric Supply.

The Distributor Distinguished Service Award is given to an individual for outstanding and dedicated service to the Association and the electrical distribution industry. The award dates back to 1965, and past winners include Raymond de Steiger of Raymond Desteiger, Inc., Kathleen Ellison of B&K Electric Wholesale, Tammy Miller of Border States, and David Maxwell of Graybar.

The Associate Service Award is given to an individual associated with an electrical manufacturing firm, who has consistently been active in promoting and supporting the tenets and goals of NAED. Past winners include Richard Angel of Lutron, Phil Barrios of Hubbell, Liz O’Grady of Thomas & Betts/ABB, Denise Keating of DATAgility, and Ralph Harris of Schneider Electric.

The Industry Award of Merit honors an associate company that has been exceptionally active in promoting, supporting and improving the electrical distribution channel. The award has been given out since 1967, with winners including Hubbell, Eaton, Legrand, Panduit, Leviton and Atkore.
