nVent Endorses NEMRA POS Standards

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. — nVent, a leading electrical manufacturer to many distributors representing brands such as Hoffman, Erico, Caddy, Raychem and more, has joined over 50 electrical manufacturers, distributors, and industry organizations in endorsing the NEMRA POS Minimum Reporting Standards.

The standards, developed by a joint manufacturer rep/manufacturer task force, identify the minimum information that manufacturers need from distributors to accurately compensate their local sales agent.

This information is needed for identifying where a product is sold, at the zip code level, and does not require customer information. The decision to share customer level information is left to commercial discussions between distributors and manufacturers, and can be accommodated within the standards reporting format.

According to Jasneet Kaur, VP Channel Excellence for nVent, “As nVent continues to serve our distributor we recognize that the role of the rep is critical to generating demand and serving our distributors.  It is important that our independent sales representatives be compensated accurately and appropriately.  Adopting the NEMRA standards helps us standardize our processes so that we can improve how we serve our distributors and sales agents. With distribution adopting the NEMRA standards it was important that we take this next step.  Our adoption reaffirms our commitment to our sales agents.”

Jim Johnson, President of NEMRA, commented, “On behalf of nVent’s reps we appreciate their endorsement and commitment to the standards and to seeing that their reps are properly compensated for their sales efforts at endorsing distributors. The standards are helping manufacturers and distributors streamline their POS collection processes, capturing the necessary information that manufacturers need to compensate their reps while providing distributors confidentiality of their customer base.”
