nVent ILSCO is First Manufacturer to Meet New NEC Requirement

CINCINNATI — nVent is excited to announce that nVent ILSCO Nimbus and ClearTap insulated mechanical connectors, and the GTA-250 Series parallel tap connectors are now UL Listed as suitable for use on the line side of service equipment. They all meet the 2020 NEC 230.46 requirement, that went into effect on January 1, 2023, requiring pressure connectors installed on service entrance splices and taps be listed and marked “suitable for use on the line side of service equipment.” nVent ILSCO connectors were tested to UL 486A-486B Annex H which is the test standard required to meet 2020 NEC 230.46.

There are a total of 292 SKUs of pressure connectors by nVent ILSCO that meet the 2020 NEC 230.46 requirement including Nimbus and ClearTap with three to 14 ports using aluminum or copper conductors ranging from 14 AWG to 750 kcmil, as well as the GTA-250 series parallel tap connectors with a lay-in main for 1/0 to 250 kcmil aluminum or copper conductors and tap ranging from 14 AWG to 250 kcmil conductors.
