Omni Cable names retired United Electric president to board

Omni Cable appointed Eugene (Gene) Bruni to its board of directors.

Bruni recently retired from New Castle, Del.-based United Electric where he served as president. He held several other positions with United Electric over the course of his career, including outside sales, vice president of sales, senior vice president of sales and marketing. He also served on United Electric’s board of directors from 1996-2011.

According to an Omni Cable news release, Bruni was chosen after an “extensive search.” He was chosen based on his leadership skills, industry experience and his background in helping United Electric establish itself as an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) company in 1995.

Bruni was also a key part in growing United Electric from a company with 35 employees, a single location and $3 million in sales, to one with 300 employees, 15 locations and $185 million in sales.

“Omni Cable is so fortunate to have Gene join our board,” said Jeff Siegfried, Omni Cable president and CEO. “His proven leadership and innovative thinking will be a tremendous asset to our team as we continue to grow and add value to the electrical distribution marketplace. We welcome Gene to the board and look forward to his strategic guidance and contributions.”

Omni Cable, an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) company headquartered in West Chester, Pa., is a master distributor of specialty wire and cable sold exclusively through electrical and electronic distribution. The company has stocking locations in Philadelphia, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, St. Louis, San Francisco and Tampa, Fla.
