BELL GARDENS, Calif. — On April 15, 2019, Orbit Industries, Inc. completed its West Coast distribution center operations transfer. Orbit’s new facility in Bell Gardens, California, is now the manufacturer’s primary distribution hub on the West Coast. Orbit’s previous facility in Los Angeles, California, will handle overstock and continue to operate as its corporate head office.
This new distribution center sits on four acres of land, with generous warehouse space. Local distributors will appreciate a spacious will call area and on-site parking availability. Orbit distributors nationwide will enjoy faster deliveries, shorter lead times, improved shipping accuracy and greater product inventory.
Orbit Industries holds dear to its advertised “98.7% average fill rate” on all electrical product orders. “We knew that an operations transfer of this size would be difficult, but it had to be done,” says Orbit President David Nikayin. “In addition to [98.7%] order fill rate, I also wanted us to meet our fulfillment target: same-day shipping on all orders received before noon.”
Orbit Industries’ new distribution center is located at 7533 Garfield Ave., Bell Gardens, CA 90201. It currently handles all West Coast shipping, receiving and will call operations. Orbit’s corporate, customer service, product engineering, and back-office operations will continue at the downtown Los Angeles building.
