Mazzarella appointed president of Graybar

Kathleen Mazzarella has been appointed president of Graybar effective June 1, 2012. Mazzarella has served as the company’s executive vice president and COO for the last year; she has been with Graybar for 31 years. According to a company news release, “In her new role, she will continue to set the strategic direction for Graybar’s sales and marketing function, while overseeing the day-to-day operations of the overall business.” |
Also effective June 1, 2012, Robert Reynolds, Jr.,
Graybar’s chairman, president and CEO, will serve as executive chairman. Graybar’s
news release says, “He will remain actively involved in the company as the lead
executive, overseeing the company’s strategy and providing guidance to the
executive team.”
Graybar Canada CEO to retire
Frank Hughes is retiring from his position as
president and CEO of Graybar Canada (a Graybar subsidiary). Hughes has been
with the company for 40 years; his retirement is effective Jan. 5, 2012. Hughes
began his career at Harris & Roome Supply and eventually acquired an
ownership stake in the company. He stayed on when the company was purchased by
Graybar. Hughes then served as executive vice president and general manager for
the company. He was promoted to the role of president and CEO of Graybar Canada
in 2000. Hughes has also served on Graybar Canada’s board of directors as the
chairman. Upon Hughes’ retirement, Peter Horncastle will assume
leadership of Graybar Canada and will be named executive vice president and
general manager.
VP of credit at K&M to retire
Ron Stewart | Ron Stewart, vice president of credit at K&M Electric Supply, is retiring after 30 years with the company. Stewart joined K&M in 1982 and will officially retire in March of next year. Prior to his time with K&M, Stewart worked as an accountant at Howard Hall Electric, an operations officer at Flagship Bank and the office manager at EF Hutton & Co. Stewart also served in the United States Army as a 1st Lieutenant from 1968-1971. Effective Jan. 1, 2012, Philip McCracken will take over as vice president of credit. McCracken has been with K&M since 2004. He has held various positions with the company in operations and sales. |
New Write Line Business Unit Manager at Eaton
Eaton Corporation has promoted Jeff Ames to Write
Line Business Unit Manager. Ames has been with Eaton since 1998; he joined the
company through its acquisition of Powerware. Before this promotion, Ames
served as the senior manager for Eaton’s Distributed Power Quality Division.
According to a company news release, in his new role, “Ames will be responsible
for leading the growth of the company’s data center and airflow management
solutions, network and server racks, command and control consoles, modular lab
systems and general office products.”
Colonial appoints new president and CEO
Peter Gasiewicz has been appointed as the
president and CEO at Colonial Commercial Corp. Colonial distributes HVAC,
plumbing and electrical supplies, among other things, through its subsidiaries
Universal Supply Group, RAL Supply Group, American/Universal Supply Division
and S&A Supply. Gasiewicz has been with Colonial since 2008 and previously
served as the company’s vice president of sales. Before joining Colonial,
Gasiewicz held several other leadership positions at other companies; He was
the president of Fedders North America, senior vice president of Fedders
Corporation and vice president and general manager of International Comfort
Products/Carrier Corporation. Gasiewicz is also a veteran, having served with
the United States Marine Corps.
Owner of State Electric appointed to AFB board
Arthur Weisberg, founder/owner of State Electric,
has been elected to the board of trustees for the American Foundation for the
Blind (AFB). AFB Board of Trustees Chair Concetta Conkling said, “Arthur
Weisberg is an outstanding addition to AFB’s board. Mr. Weisberg’s business
savvy, history of service and commitment to the community bode well for AFB in
its 90th year and beyond.”
CED/Philips general manager speaks at commencement
Jefferson City, Mo. Mayor Eric Struemph, who is
also the general manager for CED/Philips and Company, was scheduled to speak
the commencement ceremony for William Woods University last week. According to
an article
from The Fulton Sun, CED/Philips and Company is a distributor with
locations in Jefferson City and Osage Beach, Mo. Struemph is a graduate of
William Woods and also works as an adjunct faculty member at the university. He
was elected as mayor of Jefferson City in May.
