It’s been a long hard winter for much of the country, and the idea of a trip to Florida is very appealing. So why don’t you head south to the NAILD conference, April 6 – 9, 2014 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida?
Registration is now open on a per day basis to non-members and those attending all three days will receive a $500 credit toward their annual membership if they join NAILD within 90 days of the conference. The two keynote speakers – Monday and Tuesday mornings – are world-class. Rogier van der Heide, Vice President and Chief Lighting Designer for Phillips Lighting in Amsterdam will open the conference. Jack Curran, President of LED Transformations, LLC, will kick off day two with a look at the likely future of LED lighting in residential and commercial / industrial market segments. He will discuss new skills and capabilities that NAILD attendees must master to succeed in this future LED world.
The breakout sessions will address both lighting and business operations. Doug Avery, who initiated and managed the California Advanced Lighting Controls Training Program (CALCTP); Valerie Bastien of the Lighting Science Group in Florida; Randy Johnson, LC, past president of NAILD and President of US Lamp Company; and finally, Roberta Matuson, President of Matuson Consulting. She has helped leaders in Fortune 500 companies, including Best Buy, New Balance, The Boston Beer Company and small to medium-size businesses, achieve dramatic growth and market leadership through the maximization of talent. She is known globally as “The Talent Maximizer.”
Last and by no means least, the highlight of the conference will be the offsite program on Tuesday afternoon and features a tour of the Marlins Park Stadium. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the ‘back of the house’ at one of the nation’s foremost sporting facilities. NAILD attendees will have a private tour of all the facilities with special emphasis on the lighting technology that was used in the design. This tour is included in Tuesday’s registration fee.
