Rexel announces the appointment of Brian McNally to the newly-created position of Executive Vice President and CEO of Rexel North America, effective August 1, 2014.
In this role, Brian McNally will become a member of Rexel’s Executive Committee and be in charge of Rexel’s operations in North America, encompassing both the US and Canadian businesses, which represent about one-third of the Group’s total sales.
This leadership change will reinforce and strengthen Rexel’s organization and management in North America. It comes in the wake of the previously announced decision by Executive Vice President and CEO of Rexel Holdings USA Christopher Hartmann to leave the company, as well as Jeff Hall’s recent decision to retire as Senior Vice President and CEO of Rexel Canada Electrical Inc., after 21 years with the company. Both Chris Hartmann and Jeff Hall were members of Rexel’s Executive Committee.
Brian McNally’s appointment reinforces Rexel’s commitment to create the leadership conditions to further accelerate the business transformation and to leverage synergy and scale across North America, and to drive the execution of Rexel’s Energy in Motion strategy through enhanced customer centricity and organizational effectiveness for profitable organic and external growth.
Brian McNally joins Rexel from Arrow Electronics Inc., a global provider of electronic products, services and solutions for industrial and commercial end-users of electronic components and enterprise computing solutions, with USD21bn of sales in 2013. McNally worked for Arrow Electronics for over 30 years in a variety of leadership positions in both the United States and Europe.
Rudy Provoost, Chairman and CEO of Rexel, said: “I am delighted that Brian McNally has decided to join Rexel to head our North American operations. Brian has a proven track record in building and transforming businesses and brings a wealth of experience as a senior leader and top executive in the field of distribution.”
