PARIS—Electrical distributor Rexel reported sales for the third quarter of €3.4 billion (US $3.8 billion), up 3.7 percent from the same period a year ago. Sales were up 6.9% in the first 9 months of the year.
Profit decreased 70.3 percent to €20 million (US$22.1 million).
Europe sales were up 1.6 percent and North American sales increased 5.8 percent (U.S. sales down 5.6 percent and Canadian sales down 12.7 percent). Asia-Pacific sales increased 8.4 percent.
Rexel’s acquisition of Sofinther is expected to be finalized early 2016.
