Rexel announced the sale of its operations in Poland, Slovakia and the Baltics to the Würth Group.
With this divestment, which follows that of its operations in Latin America, Rexel continues its disposal program aimed at reallocating its resources to its most profitable activities (the key terms and financial impacts of the program were announced when Rexel presented its 2014 annual results on February 12, 2015).
The operations contributed to the consolidated sales of Rexel in 2015 for €153 million.
Because of their limited size, these operations are not considered strategic for the Group. The sale of these operations will also improve the profitability of European operations and of the Group as a whole.
With this divestment, Rexel has already completed about 60% of the disposal program announced on February 12, 2015. This program provides that, once finalized, at the latest by the end of 2016, disposed operations should represent about 5% of total Group revenue, based on the 2014 consolidated financial statements.
This transaction represents an enterprise value of around €10 million and should generate an estimated loss of around €27 million before tax.
The completion of this transaction remains subject to the approval of the relevant competition authorities.
