Rexel Shares Sustainability Update

Rexel highlighted the progress made in translating its sustainability ambitions into actions with a measurable impact, accelerating advances both within its own operations and across the value chain.

Based on 2025 data, its new sustainability brochure demonstrates, with concrete facts and figures, how Rexel’s sustainability roadmap supports its Axelerate 2028 strategy, which aims to multiply the value delivered to stakeholders – customers, employees, shareholders, suppliers, partners, and local communities worldwide. From a 42% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions compared to 2016, to the Responsible Supplier Charter covering 82% of direct purchases and 86% of employees having completed training, the Rexel Group is making significant progress towards achieving its sustainability goals.

To achieve this, Rexel’s sustainability roadmap is structured around three key priorities – employees, partners, and the planet – and is based on strong principles of ethics and compliance, accompanied by a detailed action plan and key performance indicators. Implemented across the company, this roadmap reflects the conviction that long-term performance depends on responsible business practices, relationships built on trust, and the ability to generate progress at scale.

Rexel reports concrete progress on its path towards achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. The results demonstrate a significant acceleration, driven by consistent company-wide efforts to reduce carbon emissions: Scope 1 and 2 emissions have decreased by 42% compared to 2016, thanks to more efficient facilities, the electrification of operations, and increased use of renewable energy. Scope 3 emissions have fallen by 38% over the same period, reflecting strengthened partnerships with suppliers, a more sustainable product range, and the decarbonization of the energy mix in various countries.

To truly inspire and lead by example, Rexel also emphasizes the importance of driving change from within. By 2025, the vast majority of employees surveyed agreed that the company was environmentally conscious (87%) and responsive to its customers (79%), while workplace accidents had decreased by 10%. Overall, 86% of employees benefited from training designed to support their career progression and personal development, and women held nearly a third (32%) of management positions at Rexel, in a sector traditionally dominated by men.

At the same time, Rexel has strengthened its collaboration with its partners: around 80% of its suppliers have committed to respecting its responsible supplier charter, and nine of its main suppliers have joined its new “Sustainability Shapers” program to raise awareness of sustainable development issues, promote the latest environmentally friendly technologies and launch innovative circular economy initiatives.

Through these measures and other initiatives, the Group continues its ambition to simplify sustainable electrification in order to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable world.

In a context where sustainable development is emerging as a key driver of performance and resilience for businesses, our shared challenge is to translate ambitious goals into concrete results. As a leading distributor of products, services, and solutions at the heart of the electrical value chain, we have both the opportunity and the responsibility to support the market in its transition to more sustainable solutions.” ~Guillaume Texier, CEO of Rexel
