Rockwell Donates $500K to Ukraine Refugee Relief Efforts

MILWAUKEE – Rockwell Automation (NYSE: ROK) will donate $500,000 to five nonprofit organizations leading humanitarian relief efforts for Ukraine refugees with each receiving $100,000. These include United Way WorldwideRed CrossGlobal GivingSave the Children, and Polish Humanitarian Action.

Since the Russian military invasion started February 24, more than 3 million people have fled Ukraine of which the vast majority are women and children. Most have gone to bordering countries with 1.8 million going to Poland alone. It’s predicted millions more may still leave Ukraine as the war escalates, and the U.N. Refugee Agency reports a significant number of refugees have started to move further west.

“We are deeply concerned about the enormous suffering in the region and the growing magnitude of this humanitarian crisis,” said Rockwell’s Patricia Contreras, vice president, Public Affairs.

Rockwell’s $500,000 contribution follows a recent $50,000 employee challenge 2:1 match contribution made to Project HOPE, a nonprofit coordinating Ukraine relief services with NGOs, hospitals, and government officials. To support their employees in Poland, the company is also offering paid time off to those participating in local volunteer efforts.

“We are proud of the many ways our colleagues are helping those impacted by these devastating events whether partnering with local nonprofits to provide housing, serving as translators, or making their own charitable contributions,” Contreras said.
