CHARLESTON, S.C. – Sonepar announced its Midwest subsidiary, Echo Electric, has entered into an agreement to acquire Shaw Supply, a full-line electrical distributor located in Kansas City, Missouri. A family-owned business since 1957, Shaw Supply brings more than 30 associates to Echo Electric and strengthens its presence in the greater Kansas City market and western Missouri.

The acquisition marks another milestone in Echo Electric’s strategic plan to create a single platform across the Midwest. In 2025, Echo unified five distinct operations under the Echo brand for a total footprint that covers ten states and 500,000 square miles. The distributor has also been expanding a suite of specialized services, including quick-ship switchboards and panelboards, substation packaging and sourcing, and industrial solutions, like network assessments.
The acquisition is expected to close at the end of March.
