GENEVA, Switzerland — Sonepar is pleased to announce that its subsidiary Sonepar International Services is expanding its activities and organization to accompany the Group’s digital transformation, develop its support to the Group’s operating companies, and reinforce relationships with the Group’s leading suppliers. Sonepar International Services, headquartered in Geneva, has been providing worldwide strategic and operational services since 2003. As part of this expansion, Sonepar International Services has moved to new larger offices.
As such, Sonepar has also appointed Jerome Malassigne as Chief Strategic Marketing & Sourcing Officer and APAC (Asia Pacific) Operations. He will be based in Geneva. Malassigne will be in charge of Sonepar International Services’ activities and will also oversee Sonepar’s operations in APAC. In addition, Lamaro Parreira, VP Strategic Marketing, who has over 20 years of industry experience, will support him in deploying the 5 years Strategic Plan, in managing relationships with strategic partners at international level and in developing Sonepar’s marketing initiatives on a global scale.
Sonepar International Services will launch two major initiatives in 2019:
- A new Global Supplier Portal leveraging dedicated to major international suppliers which will enable them to access specific and dedicated information (product & sales data, news, reports, people directory) to enhance joint business development.
- The launch of a new Global Sourcing Platform dedicated to the non-electrical product range which will supply all Sonepar operating companies. The Platform and the catalog will be completely digital, in line with Sonepar’s Digital transformation. The team, based in Shanghai (China), started to operate in early 2019.
“One of the key strategic objectives that Jerome and his team will focus on, in close coordination with the Digital Enterprise team, will be the rapid digitalization digitization of Sonepar Strategic Sourcing processes allowing us to create the first global cloud-based data lake in the B2B Electrical Distribution industry aggregating business data from over 40 countries. He will also accelerate the creation of Sonepar’s Global Sourcing Platform and will continue to improve our Strategic Marketing processes,” said Philippe Delpech, Sonepar CEO.
