Sonepar USA Strengthens Commitment to U.S. Military and Veterans

CHARLESTON, S.C. — Sonepar USA, a subsidiary of the privately held Sonepar Group, announces that Sonepar North America’s President, Rob Taylor, signed the Statement of Support for the Guard and National Reserve, joining thousands of employers pledging their support to Guard and Reserve members within their organizations. The pledge emphasizes Sonepar USA’s strong commitment to providing company managers and supervisors with tools to effectively manage associates who serve in the Guard and Reserve and encourages opportunities to hire guardsmen, reservists, and veterans.

In addition, Taylor signed a United States Army Reserve Proclamation, declaring Sonepar USA a proud supporter of the US Army Reserve. Through this, Sonepar USA is committing to assist soldiers and families in overcoming barriers to obtain meaningful employment and supporting mission readiness goals, enhancing their financial stability, and helping to create connections with the community.

Over the past few months, Sonepar USA has put a greater focus on military relations and outreach. The company recently appointed Chris Miles to the newly created role of Military and U.S. Veteran Relations Manager. Miles is a 26-year army veteran with broad experience in recruiting from the veteran talent pipeline.

“Adding a specific resource, who is closely aligned to the military audience, is critical to our talent acquisition efforts,” said Taylor. “In addition to Chris’ appointment, and under his leadership, we have entered over 20 strategic military partnerships helping to open the door to the expansive military network. We are working to empower our veteran associates and provide opportunities for more veterans to join our organization.”
