Sonepar is pleased to announce that the Sacchi Group has entered into an agreement to acquire Demo SpA, a market sector leader operating mainly in the Northern regions of Italy. The agreement is subject to the approval of Italy’s Competition Authority. This acquisition will reinforce Sonepar leadership on the Italian B2B Electrical Distribution market to building and industry customers.
Founded in 1997, Demo S.p.A., is based in Casale Monferrato and recorded an annual turnover of 118 M€ thanks to its 300 associates. Demo currently has 36 branches and a 24,000 sq. m logistics hub. Demo has always based its business on a number of main core values including a commitment to efficient customer service and passion for business, all of which have made the company successful and a firm point of reference in the area both for its customers and its suppliers.
“Sacchi is the perfect partner: the common values that we share and that set us apart from the rest, as well as our knowledge of the market in which we operate, guarantee that we will continue to grow as a company and remain a major player in northern Italy,” said Giorgio Osta, President of Demo.
“This takeover will enable us to become part of a dynamic, constantly growing organisation and thereby also assure Demo’s employees a future full of opportunity in what is an increasingly competitive marketplace,” commented Guido Minola, Managing Director of Demo.
“By merging the respective quality, skills and history of our two companies we will create a new and even better-performing organisation that will soon become the primary point of reference both for our customers and our suppliers” states Marco Brunetti, President and Managing Director of the Sacchi Group. “This takeover is in line with Sacchi’s strategic plan, which provides for a new push to create additional value for all of the company’s stakeholders, including its employees, customers and suppliers. We are indeed very pleased to welcome all of Demo’s employees into our organisation and we’re certain that, thanks to their proven professionalism and knowledge of the marketplace, they will be of invaluable assistance to us in terms of achieving the Group’s objectives,” concluded Marco Brunetti, Sacchi CEO.
“On behalf of Sonepar’s 46,000 associates operating in 44 countries, I am excited to welcome Demo to our Group. This acquisition will give rise to a new market leader in the electrical equipment and supplies distribution sector of Northwest Italy. It is a strategic country for Sonepar and it will continue to offer great results thanks to a reactive market and an excellent local organization,” stated Philippe Delpech, CEO of Sonepar.Tagged with acquisition, Sonepar
