Stelpro Again Named One of Canada’s Best Managed Companies

SAINT BRUNO de MONTARVILLE, Quebec — Stelpro is proud to announce that it has once again been recognized as a Canada’s Best Managed Companies Gold Standard winner. Gold winners represent the cream of the crop among Canadian-owned and managed companies with revenues over $25 million that invest in talent, technology, and innovation in a competitive environment.

“Since its foundation in 1981, Stelpro’s mission has been to reinvent the electric heating industry, and our ranking as the #1 manufacturer in North America bears witness to the success of this vision. Solid management, but more importantly, our employees’ creativity at all levels of the company, has made this accomplishment possible,” said Stelpro President, Yves Chabot. “We are now positioned as a significant player in the energy transition to tackle the major challenges facing our society. As a leader, it is our responsibility to address these issues and develop solutions that will ensure the well-being of our communities for generations to come.”

In October 2019, Stelpro announced that it was partnering with Hydro-Québec’s Hilo subsidiary to create the new Stello joint venture, whose mandate is to develop in Quebec innovative connected devices for the smart home to contribute to efficient energy use management. Stelpro is already recognized for the design, manufacturing and assembly excellence of its Maestro smart thermostats as well as for its extensive distribution network. Stelpro contributes leading-edge expertise to this joint venture.

The company is also continuing its strategic $24M investment over three years in its St-Bruno-de-Montarville plant. The recently completed addition of 65,000 square feet has made it possible to increase production capacity and improve distribution efficiency to the benefit of Stelpro’s business partners. The next phase involves sustained investments in automation and robotization to increase manufacturing productivity. The creation of the 50 new jobs is also ongoing in parallel with these developments.

Aside from new job creation, labor shortage remains a constant challenge. To attract the best talents, the company has updated its employer positioning to promote and showcase the stimulating work environment as well as the quality of life and work-life balance it offers employees.

To maintain its leadership position, Stelpro is firmly committed to continuous expansion and to meeting tomorrow’s challenges. It will continue to rely on innovation and its employees, as well as its strong, longstanding relationships with partners and clients to this end.
