Summit Electric Supply Hires CIO, Promotes CXO

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Patrick Davis, President and CEO of Summit Electric Supply, announced that Michael Aufdembrink has been named Summit’s new Chief Information Officer (CIO) effective June 1 and Sheila Hernandez has been named the new Senior Vice President, Customer Experience Officer (CXO).

“Mike brings a wealth of IT experience to the organization, including digital strategy creation, enterprise application development, and business development,” remarked Davis. “We are excited to have Mike join the Summit team.”

Mike Aufdembrink

Aufdembrink has over 25 years of experience developing IT/digital strategy, large application implementation, infrastructure, program management, cyber/risk management, plus proficiency with mergers & acquisitions. He previously served in CIO roles at Baker Hughes, Energizer Holdings, HCA Corporation, Sara Lee Corporation, and Parallon Revenue Cycle Solutions.

Aufdembrink’s responsibilities at Summit will include digital strategy, information technology operations, and cybersecurity.

Aufdembrink holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology, and both a Masters of Science in Information Systems and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Missouri – St. Louis. He will work out of Summit’s Houston office.

Sheila Hernandez

Hernandez joined Summit in 1987 as a part-time marketing intern while completing her undergraduate degree at the University of New Mexico. After earning her MBA, she proceeded to take on the roles of Marketing Coordinator, Director of Marketing, Vice President of Marketing, and Chief Information & Technology Officer before being named to her new position.

In addition to building an award-winning marketing department, Hernandez also led Summit’s internet presence, mobile app development, and technology team. She will continue to be based in the company’s Albuquerque headquarters and report to Davis.

In her new role, Hernandez will champion Summit’s customer-centric strategies across the business. She will also work to accelerate Summit’s Training and Team Development initiatives, as well as Summit’s Quality Management System.

“At Summit, we are committed to delivering flawless customer experiences. The appointment of Sheila as our Customer Experience Officer is a direct reflection of that commitment,” said Davis.
