tED Magazine Corrects Story on USESI/Main Electric Supply Merger

On Tuesday, April 30, tedmag.com and our Tuesday afternoon e-newsletter incorrectly reported USESI had agreed to a merger with Main Electric Supply Company based in Santa Ana, California. The story should have said the merger is with Main Electric Supply based in Monroe Township, New Jersey.

tED magazine’s e-newsletter also included the incorrect company logo. We admit we got some important facts wrong.

As a result, tED magazine has apologized to Main Electric Supply Company for the mistake and creating the confusion.  Main Electric Supply Company remains an independently owned distributor.

This story absolutely does not meet tED magazine’s editorial standards, which is something we take great pride in and great effort to maintain. We do require a process for reviewing news stories before they are posted online, and that process was not followed correctly. We will work harder to re-build your trust in the work we do in our online news offerings.

We have also taken additional steps to make sure something like this does not happen again, and we have started a complete review of all editorial decisions and how stories will be posted both online and in our e-newsletters.
