tED Magazine Named B2B Magazine of the Year

The American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE)  has awarded tED magazine its top honor, Best B2B Magazine of the Year, during its annual conference at the Poynter Institute in St. Petersburg, Florida on Thursday, May 9. It is the first time tED magazine has been named Magazine of the Year, after being named one of the ASBPE Top 10 publications last year.

During the ceremony, tED magazine was also honored with a National Gold Award for its Current section, which is the news section in every issue of tED magazine. tED also earned a National Gold Award in the design category for the Table of Contents page, and a National Silver Award for the front cover design for the New Product Preview supplement with the December issue of tED magazine.

The AZBEE Awards “are highly competitive and celebrate the highest quality reporting, editing and design in business-to-business, trade, association and professional publications. The awards honor all types of publications including magazines, newspapers, newsletters, websites, and digital media,” according to the ASBPE website. This year, the awards received more than 1,100 entries, judged by 89 business publication editors. Other magazine of the year honorees in the top 10 for this year include The American Bar Association Journal, Exhibitor Magazine, Restaurant Development and Design, Trade Show Executive, and Cannabis Business Times.

Since 2015, tED magazine has earned 107 regional and national awards from the ASBPE. That includes 11 National Awards in 2016, 5 National Awards in 2017, 11 National Awards in 2018, and 4 National Awards this year. In addition to being honored as one of the 10 best B2B magazines in 2018, tED magazine was also named one of the 10 best websites for tedmag.com in 2015, 2017 and 2018.  Other past National Gold Awards include best news section for Current in 2018 and 2016, best new website for lightED in 2018, and front cover design in 2016 and 2017 for the New Product Preview.

This year, tED magazine earned 18 regional awards, including a Gold Award for our ongoing commodities column in tED magazine, our coverage on diversity in last June’s issue of tED magazine, Original Web Commentary on the subjects of why your co-workers are quitting and diversity, our regular Get a Grip On Lighting podcast on on “lightED” on  lighting warranties, and our ongoing coverage on Amazon and its threat to our supply chain.
