tED Magazine Plans First Virtual 30 Under 35 Meet-Up

After a very energetic 2016 NAED LEAD Conference last July, it is important to hang onto that energy and continue to grow until next summer’s event. In order to do that, tED magazine wants to continue the conversations and leadership experiences. We have scheduled our first-ever virtual meet-up for Thursday, November 3 at 1:00 p.m. Central Time.

This year’s NAED LEAD Conference featured a dynamic group of up and coming stars in this industry, honored as a tED magazine “30 Under 35”. This is the fifth time we have held the “30 Under 35” event, meaning we now have 150 association members who have been recognized. For the first time, we asked past “30 Under 35” honorees to attend the NAED LEAD Conference, and 18 took the time out of their schedules to attend. The past honorees helped with roundtable discussions, facilitated conversations on the future of the industry, and answered questions from other attendees.

The two and a half day event was really just a kick-off to build this “30 Under 35” group throughout their careers. We decided to keep the group together throughout the year to follow up on the lessons we learned, see how the best practices are applied once we returned to work, and share additional knowledge we gained since the conference. We are going to do that through our tED magazine Twitter account, www.twitter.com/tedmagazine and with your help.

We have invited all of our “30 Under 35” honorees to join us. But we are also inviting anyone else who you feel is a rising star in the industry. Our Twitter event is not limited to only NAED LEAD Conference attendees or past “30 Under 35” recipients. You can ask questions, provide answers, or just follow the conversation.

For the event, we will follow the hashtag #LEADchat. Anyone who provides a comment should include the hashtag so everyone can see it. During the event, we will be re-capping some of the items we learned, like “1mt, 1mt” from speaker Josh Sundquist, best practices from our NAED Executive Panel, or any of the roundtable discussions. If you have anything you want to specifically ask in advance, you can send me an e-mail at scosta@naed.org.

I hope you can all take an hour out of your work-week to join us at 2:00 p.m. Eastern, 1:00 p.m. Central on Thursday, November 3. We will be at www.twitter.com/tedmagazine and using #LEADchat.
