In this issue of “The Good Stuff,” Gescan and George Gordon Developments Ltd.’s (GGDL) collaborations are strengthening community impact in Saskatchewan.
COQUITLAM, British Columbia — Gescan, a Sonepar Company, is proud to highlight its continued commitment to supporting communities across Saskatchewan through its meaningful alliance with George Gordon Developments Ltd. (GGDL).
With a strong focus on community development, workforce participation and inclusive growth, Gescan is working closely with GGDL to create training, employment and business opportunities for Saskatchewan residents. These efforts are particularly focused on supporting individuals and families in and around the Humboldt region and the George Gordon First Nation.

In 2024, Gescan and GGDL, formed a strategic alliance rooted in a shared vision of economic inclusion and community advancement. This collaboration reflects a mutual commitment to supporting Indigenous participation, strengthening local capacity and creating sustainable employment opportunities for community members.
As part of this partnership, Gescan and GGDL are collaborating to recruit and develop local talent in the electrical industry, including co-creating an Indigenous recruitment and retention strategy. Gescan is also working closely with GGDL’s HR team to expand Indigenous employment opportunities and connect community members with long-term career pathways.
“We are deeply committed to the communities we serve and recognize the responsibility we have to contribute to their long‑term growth and well‑being,” said Ryan Peever, Vice‑President of Sales at Gescan. “Our approach goes beyond business. We focus on building inclusive, respectful relationships that create real opportunities and lasting positive impact for local communities.”
“This alliance is about creating meaningful, long‑term opportunities for our people,” said Josh Montana, Vice President of Business Development and Strategy for George Gordon Developments Ltd. “By working together with Gescan, we are opening doors to careers in the electrical and sales sectors and ensuring our community is involved throughout the full lifecycle of major projects — both on‑site and off‑site.”
Beyond workforce development, Gescan and GGDL are also supporting community initiatives by sponsoring and participating in local events, including the Regina Pats Indigenous Hockey Night, Pow Wows, and more.
As a leading electrical distributor in Western Canada, Gescan plays an important role in supporting large‑scale industrial and infrastructure projects while ensuring that local communities share in the benefits.
