Distributor Wire & Cable Donates Over $25,000 To The American Heart Association In 2023
DENVER, Colo. – Distributor Wire & Cable (DWC) proudly announces a substantial donation of over $30,000 to the American Heart Association (AHA). This contribution reflects the company’s unwavering commitment to its corporate value: Give Back, A Lot!
DWC’s support of the American Heart Association hits close to home for the company. In the fall of 2017, DWC mourned the loss of an employee who had a massive heart attack and passed away suddenly. The employee was 31 years old, healthy, active, and served as a personal trainer in his spare time. If heart disease could happen to him, it can happen to anyone!
DWC’s 2023 charitable efforts began back in June with the Denver Heart Walk, an annual event that raises money and awareness to benefit the American Heart Association’s effort to fight heart disease and stroke. DWC employees came together to raise over $10,000 to support research and prevention efforts for the number one cause of death in the U.S. Money for the Heart Walk was raised through pledged donations, and voluntary payroll deductions from Distributor Wire & Cable employees.
The next phase of DWC’s AMA charity initiative involved a partnership with Major League Baseball’s Colorado Rockies. DWC sponsored “Walks for Heart Health,” a charity initiative where DWC made a donation each time a Colorado Rockies’ batter drew a walk during home games at Coors Field in DWC’s home city of Denver, CO. The culmination of this sponsorship and charity partnership saw DWC make an additional $15,000 donation during the team’s final home game of the season.
As fellow members of the electrical wholesale industry, we hope you share our sense of pride in being involved in this charitable campaign. Distributor Wire & Cable has embraced giving back and we invite our industry counterparts to join us! Together, we in the electrical wholesale industry can make a difference, regardless of the cause!
