The proposed split of Osram from Siemens was overwhelming approved this week.
Siemens AG said 98% of its shareholders have approved the spin-off of its Osram lighting unit, according to the Reuters News Service.
Siemens shareholders will receive one additional share of Osram for every 10 Siemens shares.
A listing is expected in April at the earliest, the news agency said.
