Comparing it to what the iPod did for Apple, Southwire has announced it will begin marketing its new CoilPAK Wire Package to contractors beginning April 2.
“We put an intense focus on the end user, and that motivated us to try to find a solution,” said Southwire CEO Stuart Thorn. “I don’t see why spools would even exist in five years.”
The SIMpull CoilPak rests on its side, is held in an easy-to-carry package, improves safety and makes cable pulling easier. The packages all weigh less than 50 pounds, with the 10 gauge up to 1,250 feet, the 12 gauge up to 2,000 feet, and the 14 gauge up to 2,500 feet.
It also eliminates waste and time needed to set up to pull wire.
“We want to help contractors beat their circuit branch installer budgets by eliminating wasted time by having to handle numerous wire spools on a job site,” said Norman Adkins, executive vice president of Southwire’s electrical division. “Southwire’s goal is to make each job more predictable and easier to manage.”
