Turtle & Hughes Hosts Ideal Industries National Championship

LINDEN, N.J. — Do you have what it takes to be the best electrician in North America? Test your skills this summer at a Turtle & Hughes office in Whippany (July 18), Bridgewater (July 26) or Plainfield, New Jersey (August 21), when they host the IDEAL INDUSTRIES Elite Tradesman National Championships. Throughout the competition, over $600k in cash and prizes will be awarded by IDEAL.

According to the IDEAL website, the third annual event is “a highly-charged, no-holds-barred competition to determine the best electrician in North America. Get amped to show your skills, test your limits, and compete against some of the best tradesmen and women in the industry.”

“It’s been a lot of fun to partner with IDEAL and see the remarkable skills of these electricians at work,” explains Andrea Barrall, Director of Marketing at Turtle & Hughes. “Two years ago, a customer/contractor who competed at our Whippany branch posted the fastest time in Central New Jersey and went on to compete in the finals. We know that New Jersey has top talent and we hope that the next winner will be from our area,” she said.

All three Turtle & Hughes branches will host professional-level competitions from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; contestants should arrive early to register and compete. They will be tested across five categories: pulling, cutting, stripping and terminating wire, and performing a continuity test. Michael Dilloian of IDEAL INDUSTRIES will be on-site as a Factory Direct Area Sales Manager supervising each of the branch events, giving instructions, and recording official times.

Other first-round events are being held across the country and in Canada.
