Top Workplaces, a website dedicated to using employee feedback to find the best workplaces in the country, has named Van Meter, Inc. as the 8th top workplace in Iowa.
In order to obtain the award, employees are given a survey that measuring workplace experience and culture, along with the opportunity for open-ended comments to provide extra context. At least 35% of all employees must fill out the survey to be eligible.
Among other categories, Top Workplaces recognized Van Meter for its opportunities as employee-owners. One key comment highlighted on the Top Workplaces website was, “When you work with a team member at Van Meter, you’re not just working with an employee—you’re
working with an employee-owner. Our company became 100 percent employee-owned in 2005. Each of us is empowered to make decisions, create solutions and do what’s right to grow our business.” The award also highlighted Van Meter’s values, especially in the people, partners, progress, place, and profit categories.
Van Meter described its “purpose” as “To create lasting value for those we serve.”
Van Meter, Inc. is the country’s 14th largest electrical distributor, with 25 locations in seven states.
