CEDAR RAPIDS, IA — David James, Account Manager and Employee-Owner for Van Meter Inc., has recently earned designations as a Certified Electrical Professional (CEP) and a Certified Sales Professional (CSP).
The CEP certification program has been developed specifically for distributors, manufacturers and others in the electrical distribution channel by the National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED). The certification identifies that James has demonstrated expertise and professionalism in areas such as product knowledge, customer service, sales skills and communication skills, giving him added credibility in the electrical industry. To earn the CEP certification, James had to meet educational and experience requirements and pass the CEP exam.
James is one of nearly 1,000 professional sales people across the United States and Canada to achieve the CSP certification from the Manufacturer’s Representatives Educational Research Foundation (MRERF). To earn this designation, James was required to meet sales experience requirements, pass a written exam and a one-on-one verbal exam after attending a 3-day comprehensive consultative selling seminar.
These designations denote a level of education and commitment beyond the ordinary. James has been employed in a sales role with Van Meter since joining the company in 2002. He challenged himself to earn the designations to further strengthen his professional skills and level of service he provides to customers.
