ROCKFORD, Ill. — Waldom announced a major milestone in its sustainability efforts: 10 billion electronic components saved from landfills through its Green Stock Program.
Since its launch, the Green Stock Program has transformed how the electronics industry manages excess inventory. Components deemed surplus by one distributor are often still fully functional and in demand elsewhere. By recirculating this inventory back into the supply chain, Waldom helps prevent unnecessary waste while enabling distributors and manufacturers to recover value.
“This milestone reflects what’s possible when the industry comes together to challenge traditional approaches to excess inventory,” said Don Akery, CEO of Waldom. “Saving 10 billion components from landfills is a testament to the power of collaboration and our shared commitment to sustainability.”
The Green Stock Program not only diverts usable components from disposal but also supports a more efficient and responsive supply chain. By keeping products in motion, the program helps distributors meet customer demand, reduce overproduction, and minimize environmental impact.
Reaching 10 billion components saved marks a significant achievement, but Waldom sees it as just the beginning. The company remains committed to expanding the program’s global impact, working alongside partners to drive continued progress in reducing electronic waste and promoting circular economy practices.
