Warshauer Breaks Ground on New Training Facility

LAKEWOOD, N.J. — Warshauer Electric Supply, a New Jersey-based electrical wholesaler, is pleased to announce the groundbreaking of its second Warshauer Tech Training Facility, located in Lakewood N.J.

Warshauer Tech, established in 1999, is a New Jersey state-accredited and certified continuing education provider where professionals can receive state-approved continuing education units (CEU’s) for Electrical Contractors, Architects, Inspectors, Interior Designers, and Green Professionals. Warshauer’s first stand-alone training facility, opened in 2001, is located at 77 East Halsey Road in Parsippany, N.J. and has trained thousands of contractors and trade professionals over the past 20 years.

The New Warshauer Tech, a 2500 sq. ft. state-of-the-art training facility, will be located adjacent to Warshauer Electric Supply’s 45,000 sq. ft. Lakewood facility at 700 Vassar Ave. In addition to training existing trade professionals, this new facility will have a hands-on laboratory “stick room” to teach adults looking to learn a new trade. This new ‘Basics of Electrical Contracting’ course, an 8-week program approved and accredited by both the State of New Jersey and the County of Ocean, will guide the students through all aspects of electrical contracting and all graduates are guaranteed placement upon graduation. Warshauer Tech was recently awarded a contract by the Ocean County Private Industry Council under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and WorkFirst New Jersey (WFNJ). The WIOA is designed to strengthen and improve the nation’s public workforce system and help get adults into high-quality trade jobs and careers. All graduates will receive a certificate of completion, all the basic tools needed to get started in the industry, and most importantly, guaranteed job placement. In addition, this cutting-edge facility will also be home to a new Generator Sales & Service training center. Warshauer Tech – Lakewood will have both air-cooled and liquid-cooled generators, associated transfer switches, and all will be fully energized and powered as well as have an on-site 100kw generator that will provide real-time backup power for the entire 45,000 sq. ft. facility, which includes Warshauer Electric’s Lakewood location. Students will learn all the basics to sell, install and service all types of residential and commercial generators and transfer switches in a real-life working laboratory. They will have the ability to earn various manufacturer-direct certifications upon course completion. Warshauer Tech has been teaching certified installer classes for the past 18 years — including Generac’s “Power for Profits” classes — since their inception about 10 years ago. Warshauer has on-staff certified trainers so all instruction is handled in-house for generator sales and service.

Jim Dunn, Executive Vice President, commented; “Warshauer has always been known as the go to place in NJ for state mandated CEU’s across many different trade associations. We were in dire need of additional space, so this new facility gives us greater capacity as well as the ability to offer new programs, courses, and certifications. We felt it was vitally important to include a hands-on component to all our class offerings to offer a comprehensive educational experience. With this pandemic devasting many industries that may take years to come back, the state and county governments were very excited we decided to offer this new electrician course to help retrain many adults looking for a much-needed career change and new job opportunities.”

The new facility is scheduled to open in late summer of 2021.
