Werner Electric Names Director of Energy Services and Solutions

COTTAGE GROVE, Minn. — Ryan Butterfield joined Werner Electric last September as Director of Energy Services and Solutions. Butterfield comes to Werner from NextEra Energy, a global generator of wind and solar power. Butterfield has led teams responsible for designing energy solutions tailored to the customer’s needs for sustainability, resiliency and costs. He brings with him deep expertise of the energy industry and markets, including the rapidly-growing combined solar and energy storage systems.

Accompanying the announcement, John Farrell, VP Sales and Marketing, said, “Werner is very excited to have Ryan on our team. Ryan brings over 15 years of experience in the energy industry. We’re really excited to have him on board and for him to lead us as we develop and grow our next generation of energy products, services and solutions for our customers.”

With Butterfield’s knowledge of the industry and level of expertise, he brings a full breadth of skills and leadership to the energy team. “The energy industry continues to transform from large-scale generation sources to more decentralized, locally generated power from sustainable sources. I believe that winning companies in this arena can integrate the industrial controls and energy sources within their business operations. Werner is in a great position to impact the market because of their expertise and engaged customers.”

Butterfield and his wife Shanda have three active kids: Roman, Lucas, and Allie. The family enjoys time together, and Ryan is an avid golfer, bowler and tennis player.
