Antonio Jurisic, 27
Data & Business Analyst
Schneider Electric
Antonio joined Schneider Electric after graduating from Ryerson University (now renamed Toronto Metropolitan University) in 2019. “I started my career as a pricing analyst, where I collaborated to launch Schneider Electric Canada’s e-commerce platforms while building out the relationships with key channel partners to construct a shared business intelligence platform for sales channels and Schneider Electric to use to direct its e-commerce growth investments,” he explained.
A little over a year into his tenure, Antonio was promoted to data analyst—just as the COVID pandemic struck and global supply chains ground to a halt. “I led product allocation and supply chain efforts to maintain business continuity, service emergencies in communities that needed it the most, and grow the business for one of its most profitable years in recent history by increasing product out the door through supply chain efforts,” he said.
In early 2022 Antonio was promoted to his current position of data and business analyst. “I trained on the Tableau platform, which I used to build out the business unit’s business intelligence platform from scratch,” he noted. “This has enabled the unit to make informative business decisions, direct investment, and track KPIs. Currently, I’m taking on the challenge of building out Schneider’s company macroeconomics to understand where the markets are heading and where Schneider Electric Final Distribution Canada should position itself to continue to lead in the new energy landscape.”
Asked what drew him to the industry, Antonio said, “I knew I wanted to be a part of the changing energy landscape and help shape it. I chose Schneider Electric because it is leading in the new energy landscape. I wanted to learn more about the industry and how I can make the biggest impact in the space. I was amazed by the warm and friendly work culture that I found myself in and how I was encouraged to take the risks. Now what energizes me about my job (no pun intended) is that I’m influencing the strategic decisions that are helping shape the energy landscape to lead us to a net-zero future of electrification for future generations while doing it with the people I enjoy working with every day.”
As for a challenge or difficulty the industry is currently facing, Antonio pointed to increasing the adaption of new technologies at the rate that is needed to achieve net-zero [goals] and electrification with the pace that other industries are heading. “I’m looking for ways to increase adoption speeds of new energy landscape technologies by understanding market needs and devising strategies and methods to ease the adoption process as well as help Schneider Electric adapt to what the market needs to achieve this goal of electrification,” he said.
Looking forward, Antonio plans to continue developing his knowledge of the market and all its participants, as well as new technologies such as AI. “I am looking at how to combine the two and build out new solutions to help the industry advance quicker and more effectively into electrification by eventually becoming a data scientist,” he said. “My goal is to make this transition as easy as possible by leveraging the new technologies we have to get us there.”
What would Antonio tell someone just entering the industry? “This is an industry that is growing quicker than most realize due to the electrification of all industries, which presents anyone entering it with countless opportunities to make a real, meaningful difference in the world that they can see in their communities for generations to come,” he said. “I would also tell them to get out there, be open and kind, and network with as many people as you can because you’ll learn something valuable from every interaction, and you’ll discover how we’re all working toward the same goals. That’s where I believe the true meaningful connections come from and where you’ll find new opportunities to collaborate.”
Outside of work, Antonio spends time dancing, playing in a soccer league, snowboarding, and training Muay Thai to keep his physical health well while spending time with friends and family. “I’m also studying French to become trilingual,” he said. “[I have a] long list of languages to learn as it helps me a lot in my travels connecting with people. I love to meet new people from all walks of life while traveling around the world to enjoy all the experiences the world has to offer.”
