WASHINGTON — U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright this week concluded a 10-day trip to Europe with stops in Milan, Brussels, and Vienna.

In Milan, Wright participated in the 2025 GasTech Conference, where he joined a keynote discussion and press conference with energy officials and natural gas providers. He spoke about U.S. natural gas exports, their role in global markets, and efforts to expand capacity.

While in Brussels, Wright met with members of the European Parliament and Commission to discuss U.S.-EU energy partnerships, strategies to diversify Europe’s energy supply, and opportunities for long-term collaboration. The trip highlighted progress made in President Trump’s recent trade deal with the EU, which included an agreement from the EU to purchase $750 billion in U.S. energy and invest $600 billion in the United States by 2028.

In Vienna, Wright delivered the U.S. National Statement at the International Atomic Energy Agency’s 69th General Conference. His remarks emphasized nuclear safety, the development of advanced nuclear technologies, and international cooperation on civil nuclear power.

According to the Department of Energy, the trip also included discussions related to recent U.S.-E.U. trade agreements involving energy purchases and investment commitments.
