2025 30 Under 35 Profile: Andrew Goodyear

Andrew Goodyear, 23
Inside Sales Rep
Service Wire Company

Andrew started his career at Service Wire in February 2023 during his senior year of college. “I worked as a sales intern at the Phoenix location,” he said. “After graduating, I joined full-time as a sales management trainee.” Five months later, Andrew was promoted to inside sales rep and in October 2024 was relocated to the company’s Houston Sales Center of Excellence, where he retained his role but took on a larger territory and an expedited career growth track.

“Before my internship, I didn’t know anything about the electrical industry,” he recalled. “As a new hire, I was excited by the many opportunities to provide immediate solutions to real-world problems. Two years in, the opportunity to provide high-quality solutions and elite service downstream continues to appeal to me. Additionally, I appreciate the hard-working, honest, and loyal nature of this industry—it has been a joy to build relationships and support partners so that we all win.”

Asked about a challenge the industry is currently facing, Andrew pointed to the aging power grid. “It’s expected to reach maximum capacity in the coming years. As a result, new energy demand projects are on the rise,” he said. “There’s more demand than ever for copper wire and cable, and end-users need manufacturers that deliver on quality, service, and consistency. In my role, I focus on providing that reliability to our customers—giving them a trusted resource amidst the complexities of major electrical projects.”

Looking ahead, Andrew plans to deepen his understanding of wire and cable applications in critical, high-demand verticals—specifically data centers and semiconductor facilities. “I’m currently studying how our products support these environments and how Service Wire’s value proposition aligns with contractors’ needs,” he explained. “Over the next year, I aim to visit multiple job sites and gain on-the-ground experience to better serve our customers in these strategic sectors.”

What would Andrew tell someone new to the industry? “Internal networking is just as important as external networking,” he said. “Especially in sales, it’s easy to overlook the value of building relationships with the people under the same roof. Also—never pass up a chance to learn. Every experience adds value.”

When not at work, Andrew enjoys all things sports. “I love watching/playing basketball, football, golf, and soccer,” he said. “I also enjoy movies, trying new restaurants, and serving at my church.”
