DENVER, Colo. — Distributor Wire & Cable (DWC) is excited to announce the appointment of Travis Williams as the company’s Chief Executive Officer. Williams will assume leadership of the company and spearhead DWC’s strategic and operational direction moving forward. Williams replaces company founder, Bryce Huett in this role, as Huett has recently stepped away from day-to-day business to spend more time with his family in Texas.
“At DWC, one of our company values is Build to Rebuild”, explains Laura Kitto, DWC Director of People Development. “We are always looking to enhance our family and improve our ability to serve electrical distributors. Travis brings a wealth of electrical industry experience from the manufacturing, distribution and master distribution perspectives. In addition to this, his 20-year leadership background as a commanding officer in the U.S. Navy is a great addition to our team. This combined industry and military experience adds to DWC’s ability to deliver outstanding value to our distributor partners!”
Williams is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy where he played football for the Midshipmen and earned a degree in Economics. He also holds a master’s degree in Global Leadership, a degree he chose for its emphasis on leadership, teamwork, and ethics. After the Naval Academy, Williams was signed as a free agent by the Green Bay Packers. He paused his NFL dream to spend two years as an active duty Surface Warfare Officer in the Navy before returning to the Packers in 2003. Williams’ professional career has been distinguished by increased positional and intellectual responsibilities throughout. Prior to joining DWC, Williams spent 15 years within the electrical industry in various leadership roles. This experience includes executive stints at Grainger, Omni Cable, Gexpro, and Kris Tech.
“The opportunity that lies ahead for DWC is exciting, and the ability to help define this next chapter is deeply humbling and incredibly exhilarating,” said Williams. “I am focused on accelerating our continued innovation and enhancing our ability to execute on behalf of our customers. Their success will continue to drive us! I couldn’t be more confident in our ability to win, or more honored to lead this great company.”
