NEW DELHI — GE announced the appointment of Vishal Wanchoo as President & CEO of GE South Asia effective October 1, 2017. Vishal succeeds Banmali Agrawala, who is moving on from GE to join Tata Sons as President of its infrastructure, defense and aerospace business.

Wanchoo has been with GE for almost 20 years, where he started his career with GE in November 1997. Wanchoo has been a GE Officer since 2005 and has held several senior leadership positions with the company. Until now, he was the commercial growth leader for GE's Global Growth organization. Prior to his role as the commercial growth leader, Wanchoo was heading Business Development, Growth & Strategy for GE South Asia, and before that was running GE's global Healthcare IT business (HCIT) in the United States.
