PRINCETON JUNCTION, N.J. — Robin Watt of C.N. Robinson Supply in Baltimore has been named president of the National Association of Innovative Lighting Distributors (NAILD), the organization announced today.
Watt takes the helm during an exciting time in NAILD’s evolution. The nonprofit association is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, expanding its signature Lighting Specialist II training to focus on specific market segments, and preparing to open registration for its new Lighting Specialist Controls training.
Watt also has big plans for the organization’s 2018 annual conference to maximize attendees’ return on investment.
“We are transforming our annual conference into the premier educational conference for the lighting industry beginning in 2018,” Watt said. “We will triple the number of education sessions we typically provide while still offering the personal networking opportunities that make the NAILD conference a can’t-miss for industry professionals.”
The conference will continue to feature the Product Sprint Awards to honor the industry’s most innovative lighting products and its signature networking series, Organized Casual Conferences, which allow vendors and distributors to schedule one-on-one meetings to facilitate lasting partnerships.
“This is going to be a monumental year for NAILD,” Watt said.
Joining Watt on the NAILD board executive committee are president-elect Cory Schneider of Lighting Unlimited, Chandler, Arizona, secretary/treasurer Spencer Miles of Pacific Lamp & Supply, Seattle, and immediate past president Rebecca Phillips of Professional Lighting, Greensboro, North Carolina.
New members on the board of directors are Brian Huff of Adventure Lighting, Des Moines, Iowa, Matt Thesing, One Source Lighting, Grand Junction, Colorado and Tom Ciurzak, BLC International, Inc., Garden Grove, California. They join existing board members Jim Goodwin of Wattsaver Lighting Products, East Hartford, Connecticut, Josh Brown of Keystone Technologies, North Wales, Pennsylvania and Gerard Darville of Lutron Electronics, Inc. of Coopersburg, Pennsylvania.
NAILD extends its thanks and recognizes the outstanding contributions of departing board members Joan Scott Trew of Scott Lighting Supply in Huntsville, Alabama and Kelly Laub of Derick Associates Inc. in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
