Amazon has announced plans to open several fulfillment centers and a delivery station across the United States.
NORTH LITTLE ROCK — Amazon plans to open a new one million square-foot fulfillment center in North Little Rock, Arkansas. The new fulfillment center, which is anticipated to launch in 2021, will create over 500 new, full-time jobs.
“North Little Rock’s dedicated workforce and central location make it a perfect selection for Amazon’s newest distribution center,” said Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson. “I’m delighted that Amazon has once again decided to invest in Central Arkansas, creating job opportunities for hundreds of Arkansans, and I’m confident that North Little Rock will be a perfect fit for the company’s project.”
SIOUX FALLS — Amazon plans to open its first fulfillment center in the state of South Dakota in Sioux Falls. The 640,000 square-foot site, which is anticipated to launch in 2022, will create 1,000 full-time jobs.
“South Dakota is open for business, and this commitment has put our state in the position to welcome Amazon to Foundation Park,” said Governor of South Dakota, Kristi Noem. “Amazon is investing in South Dakota with 1,000 jobs, including excellent benefits, which will help fuel our state’s growth for the next generation. So on behalf of the entire state, I want to welcome Amazon to South Dakota.”
CARENCRO — Amazon plans to open its first fulfillment center in the state of Louisiana in Carencro. The new fulfillment center, which is anticipated to launch in 2021, will create over 500 new, full-time jobs.
“You don’t become the world’s largest online retailer without making a series of well-reasoned strategic investments, and Amazon’s selection of Carencro for its new fulfillment center is a testament to this,” said Louisiana Governor, John Bel Edwards. “This one million-square-foot fulfillment center will not only prove to be a tremendous asset for all of Louisiana, but the project also will result in more than 500 new, full-time jobs in Acadiana and surrounding regions. I am proud to welcome this new Amazon fulfillment center to Louisiana, and I look forward to their continued investment in our great state.”
SAN ANTONIO — Amazon plans to open two new fulfillment centers and a new delivery station in San Antonio, Texas. The new operations facilities will together create over 1,500 new full-time jobs.
“The Lone Star State is proud to welcome Amazon’s expansion in the San Antonio region,” said Texas Governor Greg Abbott. “In what continues to be a strong partnership between Amazon and Texas, these facilities will integrate state-of-the-art robotics working alongside Amazon associates to serve customers throughout the region. We are proud that Texas’ business-friendly model continues to attract innovative companies like Amazon.”
The new one million square-foot fulfillment center is expected to launch in 2021, and the new 750,000 square-foot robotics fulfillment center is expected to launch in 2022. Amazon is also planning a new 350,000 square-foot delivery station, expected to launch in 2021.
