Anita Barnes-Fox to Retire as NAED Membership Vice President

St. LOUIS—Today the National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED) announced that Anita Barnes-Fox, Membership vice president, will retire effective July 8, 2016. Brian Peters, currently senior regional manager, will assume the role of Membership director.

Barnes-Fox has been with NAED for 14 years. She has been instrumental in establishing and implementing membership programs, task forces, and educating members about the association’s products and services.

“I am grateful to have been a part of the NAED leadership team for the past 14 years,” said Barnes-Fox. “This industry and the wonderful people I have met through NAED will always hold a special place in my heart. I personally want to thank the membership team as well as the engaged staff at NAED for their assistance on behalf of the membership during my tenure.”

Peters has been with NAED since 2008 and has primarily served as NAED’s Eastern Region Manager. Over the past year, he had the opportunity to assist Barnes-Fox with the preparation for NAED board meetings, strategic conference planning, and most recently participated in the NAED strategic planning process.

“It has been a real honor and privilege to work with Anita during the past eight years,” Peters stated. “Her care and true compassion for our members is second to none. I look forward to building our membership team over the next year, with the end goal of better communicating NAED’s value proposition and understanding our members needs now and into the future.”

“On behalf of NAED staff and Board of Directors, I would like to thank Anita for her dedication and hard work in being able to understand our members needs and wish her all the best in her retirement,” said Tom Naber, NAED president & CEO. “I also would like to recognize Anita’s leadership and contributions to NAED over the past 14 years. She has been a true champion for the channel and has been a leader in the industry.”

“Strong leaders require strong successors and I am pleased to announce Brian Peters as the next Membership director,” Naber continued. “Brian has worked closely with the NAED Board of Directors, Region Councils, LEAD Committee, and the Lake Michigan Advisory Committee. His experience makes him well equipped to build upon the strong foundation Anita has created.”

NAED is the trade association for the $70+ billion electrical distribution industry. Through networking, education, research, and benchmarking, NAED helps electrical distributors increase profitability and improve the channel. NAED’s membership operates in approximately 5,100 locations internationally.
