Bob Murphy to Retire from Hubbell

With over 45 years of service to the electrical industry, Bob Murphy, Executive Vice President-Marketing & Sales, is retiring from his position at Hubbell, Inc., effective July 1, 2015.

Bob began his career in 1969 with Graybar Electric in Hammond, Indiana, where he progressed through warehouse and counter entry levels to field sales in South Bend, Indiana. In 1975, Bob went to work for Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems in Chicago, progressing through field sales to product and marketing management in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1977. After three years at their Bridgeport headquarters, he was promoted and transferred back to Chicago as district manager and subsequently regional manager for the Central Region. Then it was back to Bridgeport, with another promotion to vice president of sales for Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems in 1985, and vice president of marketing and sales in 1991. In 2000, Bob was promoted to the position of platform president for Hubbell Wiring Systems, responsible for Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems, Bryant, Hubbell Canada, Hubbell de Mexico, Premise Wiring, Pulsecom, and led the acquisition team to acquire Hubbell Building Automation (Mytech) in 2002. He was promoted to his current position in 2007 as executive vice president of marketing and sales, where he coordinated all marketing and sales activities for the corporation.

Bob and his wife, Georgiann, participated in over 150 NAED Conferences since 1980 (held in Chicago); was a member of the original Manufacturing Council; NAED Education Foundation; served on three NAED Advisory Councils; and was awarded the distinguished NAED Associate Service Award in Chicago in 2002.

Bob will continue as a special advisor to Hubbell Incorporated after his retirement.
