Border States Electric announces two promotions, expansion

Border States Electric (BSE) has made three announcements.

 

First, it will open a branch in Duluth, Minn., May 20, 2013. The new branch will operate out of a 16,400 square foot facility at 4451 Airpark Blvd., stocking extensive inventory and initially employing eight employees. The Duluth branch will serve construction, industrial and utility customers and will be managed by Marc McLennan, branch manager.

“We are delighted to bring our innovative product and supply chain solutions to northern Minnesota. Our expansion in Minnesota will allow us to fully serve our customers and provide opportunities for our employee-owners. We look forward to being a part of the Duluth community,” said Tammy Miller, CEO.

With the addition of the Duluth plant, Border States Electric will have about 1,500 employees and 57 branches in 13 states. Corporate headquarters are located in Fargo, N.D.

Also, Border States is announcing Vernon Kuntz has been named northwest region construction and industrial sales manager.

Kuntz received an associate degree in Electrical Technology at North Dakota State College of Science before joining BSE in 1981. He worked as a warehouse associate and at the city desk in the company’s Dickinson, N.D., location. During his 32 years at BSE, Kuntz has worked in a variety of roles in multiple locations including customer service representative, industrial control specialist, industrial account manager, branch manager and most recently, product manager covering western North Dakota. In his new position, Kuntz will be located in the company’s Bismarck, N.D. location and will cover Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming.

And finally, Harold Hastings has been named branch manager for Border States Electric’s (BSE¹s) Sioux Falls, S.D., location

 
Hastings joined BSE in August 2000 and worked in the warehouse and at the city desk in the company’s Sioux Falls, location. He then moved to the company’s Billings, Mont., location as a customer service representative. In 2005, he moved back to Sioux Falls to work as a quotations representative and was promoted to account manager in 2008, his most recent position.
 
Harold lives in Hartford, S.D. with his wife, Renae; and their twins, Hayden and Hillary.
