Border States Names Stein Chief Operating Officer

FARGO, N.D.— Border States Electric (BSE) has named Jason Stein chief operating officer (COO). Stein joined BSE in May 1995 as a management trainee. He has worked in various positions from product manager to director of sales. In April 2010, he was named vice president sales and appointed to the company’s executive council. Most recently he was the vice president northwest region and executive vice president. In addition, he joined company’s senior leadership team.

“Jason’s vast experience prepared him well for this new role. He has strong leadership skills, high energy and a passion to find solutions for customers,” Tammy Miller CEO said. “As COO, he will bring great leadership and value to our company.”

“I am excited and humbled by this opportunity,” Stein said, “I have spent my career at Border States, working with some great mentors; from my initial interview with Paul Madson, to both Tammy Miller and Gary Miller. I have been impressed with their character and integrity and I share their passion for excellence. I want to build on that tradition—to bring solutions to our customers and our employee-owners, and look for opportunities for growth.”

Jason is active in the National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED), the United Way of Cass-Clay’s campaign cabinet, and holds a board position on the American Red Cross, Red River Valley Chapter.

Jason and his wife, Tammie, live in Moorhead, Minnesota, with their two sons.
