CES Opens Branch in North Carolina

DALLAS, Texas — City Electric Supply opened a new store in North Carolina in November.

The new CES branch in North Carolina is the first CES store to open in Kings Mountain. It’s located in a promising location, surrounded by industrial plants, residential developments, and commercial businesses. CES Kings Mountain Branch Manager Gerald Smith, who has been a resident of the small town for 26 years, is excited to see CES enter his city.

“I don’t know if it’s hometown stuff, but they’re more open to supporting a local business, “said Smith. “We’re the first distributor here. The only places close by are hardware stores. We don’t have a lot of competitors over here.”

The new branch is providing the community with a service that has yet to be met in the small town. And with the amount of support they have received in the short time they’ve been open, their future looks bright.

“We’ve done really well from the time we opened up,” said Smith. “People are coming in pretty steadily, with some help from word of mouth and the KM Times. That helped drum up some interest in the local community.”

And there’s sure to be work in the community, too, with local projects such as the 24M warehouse, townhomes, apartments, and restaurants. These developments are expected to employ thousands of locals, but according to Smith, many residents fear losing the small-town feel. The new branch is committed to providing tailored, family-like customer service and a small-town feel.

“We try to engage with everyone. It’s not just a hey, how are you, get the sale done. We talk to people. We want them to come in and have coffee, tell us how they’re doing, how their family is doing,” said Smith. “People come in and tell us how excited they are to be here and for us to be here. We have a personal feel that says, ‘This is your place, too.’”

So, if you’re in Kings Mountain and you’re looking for a friendly face, stop by City Electric Supply. Smith and the team will surely be there to greet you.
