Co-Founder of A-Z Industries Passes Away

Bob Zywicki passed away yesterday at the age of 91. He, along with Jim Anixter, founded A-Z Industries in 1988. The company sent this announcement to tED magazine:

To all employees,

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the death of Bob Zywicki, co-founder of A-Z Industries, who passed away today at the age of almost 92.

Mr. Zywicki, along with Jim Anixter, founded A-Z Industries, Inc. in 1988, and he served as part of the executive team until his retirement in 2004. His knowledge of the industry was well known throughout the company. Darren, Todd, and Eric will forever be grateful for the training and industry knowledge that Bob bestowed upon them. One of his most famous quotes was that he “was one Anixter away from a stroke.”

We will remember his tireless efforts to make the company successful in the early years, and he will be missed by all who knew him. He put the “Z” in A-Z Industries.

We offer our sincere condolences to his family.
