Cooper Electric Gives a Sneak Peek Into Learning Lab

To train new associates on materials Cooper sells in real-life contractor applications, Cooper Electric constructed its very first Learning Lab in 2016 at its Monroe, N.J. location. Fast forward to today. With the grand opening of Cooper Electric’s new 650,000 square foot central distribution center, Cooper was able to triple the Learning Lab training area. The Lab now accommodates residential and commercial application spaces and even a dedicated section for outdoor lighting.

“The Learning Lab is specifically designed for incoming electrical distribution professionals at CooperElectric,” said Matt McCormack, Territory Sales Manager for Cooper Electric one of the creators of the Learning Lab.  “We’ve put together a team of experienced sales leaders to build this program, and it’s led by a seasoned electrician. In the Lab, we expose associates to topics like product application in rough and final stages, functionality of products we sell like wireless, EV charging, generators and more, service installs right down to the separate branch circuits, and manufacturer training.”

The Learning Lab is just the first step in Cooper Electric’s comprehensive three-part training course, EVOLVE. Each step of the training program focuses on a different aspect of the Cooper business, ensuring that employees receive a well-rounded perspective.

“We’re fully committed to providing our customers with top-notch service, and our associates employees are the heart and soul of that commitment,” added Tom Brady, Chief Operating Officer, Cooper Electric.
